The Xbox 360 Arcade console is everything you need to hit the ground running. Plug in the console and connect the wireless controller and you're playing. Xbox 360 Arcade console is everything you need to begin playing right out of the box, including Family Settings that allow parents to restrict game access for younger players.

Summary: Great Value.
Comment: The Arcade Version is not meant for everyone. If you are a casual gamer and don't care much for media storage or online gaming, this console is perfect for you.

The Arcade version is capable of doing everything the Pro and Elite versions, but does not come with the components to do so. It's missing a hard drive, HD cables, network cable, and headset.

The only thing I needed from the missing components is the Hard Drive to download games. I already have an HDMI cable and network cable, which both cost me less than $10. I picked up a refurbished 20GB Hard Drive and wireless controller from circuit city for $40. If it isn't available anymore, go to the X-box website and get a refurbished 20GB hard drive and 3 month membership to xbox live gold for $30.

I have everything I need for a fraction of the price of a pro or elite model. I'm using the saved cash to buy games.

My Pros:
Great game selection
Supposedly no more RROD
Value
Online gaming with friends

My Cons:
Very Loud DVD Drive (without Hard Drive)
Doesn't look as nice (Arcade has basic White DVD-Tray vs Chrome on Pro and Elite models)

Other Notes: I also got a JASPER model. People are mentioning the way you can tell is by looking at the power block. It should read 150w with 12.0-12.1V.

Summary: AWESOME System
Comment: I am very pleased with this item as well as the quick delivery of the system. I received this item exactly when Amazon said it would be delivered. I was debating between getting this system or a WII. I made the right choice. The 360 has more of a game selection then the WII and the game that came with the system is one my son and I can enjoy together.

Summary: Not actually such a great deal
Comment: First of all, if you have any interest in the game that comes with the system, 'sega superstars tennis', you want a Wii, not an Xbox. The Wii has many more easy, fun, kid friendly games and the Xbox has all the good, intense, in-depth games. Personally, I think they should have included a game that Xbox users would actually want like Mass Effect or Halo 3. But alas, in microsoft's hopeless attempt to compete with the Wii, you end up stuck with a useless game, two if you purchase the other packages. But enough about that. My reason for the 2 star review has to do with the hard drive and controller as explained below.

The hard drive:

The console makes the claim that it is compatible with all Xbox 360 games. Without a hard drive, this simply isn't correct. 'Oblivion Game of the year edition' (one of the best games for the 360) says right on the package that a hard drive is required, for example. Also, I sort of shrugged of other people's comments about the disc reader being noisy. That was a mistake. It's orders of magnitude louder than the Wii or any other disc drive I've heard before. With the hard drive, you can download games and avoid the terrible sound. And the hard drive isn't cheap, $135. So you might be better off paying an extra $100 for the next best console that comes with a hard drive.

The controller:

In another dumb attempt to compete with the Wii, they stick you with a wireless contreller. It makes sense with the Wii as swinging the controller around with a cord attached would be annoying. But if your just mashing buttons, not really necessary. So stock up on batteries or be prepared to put up another $18 dollars for a charger.

Summary: Please be careful: Bundle does NOT include external memory unit
Comment: I purchased this bundle assuming it includes a memory unit (as stated in the product description and shown in the product image). As I found out after I received my order, it does not. Microsoft is now including 256 mb of memory internally and no longer offers a memory unit with the newer Xbox 360 Arcade bundles. If you don't care about an external memory unit, I think this bundle is a good deal. However, if you are thinking of buying this bundle because of the memory unit, you should reconsider. If you're wondering, I need a memory unit to store my Live account so I can move it between different consoles.
Amazon corrected the problem for me, and stated they would update the product description and images on their site to reflect the change. Until then, I hope my review helps you decide which bundle to purchase. I'm giving this package 3 stars because it did not include what was stated. For their prompt attention, Amazon customer service gets 5 stars.
