Summary: Awesome NBA Experience (I cant stop LeBron)
Comment: I spend somewhere between 10-15 hours a week playing this game. I think my wife is starting to get mad at me. I am a huge NBA fan and this game does a great job representing what the real NBA is like. I can't stop LeBron when playing online, but then again who can stop him in real life? LAKERS RULE, CELTICS DROOL!!!!

Summary: Near Flawless Gameplay
Comment: NBA 2K9 is a very well made game. It's fluid and realistic control rank it high above EA Sports' games. This doesn't mean it is perfect though. The commentary isn't as good as previous releases as someone before me mentioned. Also, for playcalling, you cannot pick a defensive set to use as default. You always use man to man defense instead of other options (I.E. Full Court Press). However, you can change these options in game, but it will get annoying after a while. The gameplay is crisp and smooth and audio is well made. The graphics don't dissapoint and it has a few awesome extras. My only downgrade that is significant about this game is the music or "2K Beats". I can understand the majority of songs hip-hop or rap in a basketball game, but all the songs? 2K Sports may need to add some new tracks from rock bands to help people get more into the game. Bands like Chevelle, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and Emery might help get more rock fans into the game. Regardless, amazing game. 'Nuff said.

Summary: Will Anyone Play Any Defense???
Comment: I have had this game now for a couple of months and word can express how frustrated I am with the gameplay.
The Good: The game looks nice graphically and animates really well, it's smooth. The flow of the game is almost like watching a real game and the developers paid attention to detail well. It seems like there's always something different a player does whether it be a dribble move, layup, or dunk. From an offensive stand point the game is great.
The Bad: Defense is impossible to play or so it seems. The AI plays solid defense in most games but when it comes to the user trying to play defense, that' s different story. I watch a lot of NBA basketball and the most frustrating part of this game is that if you leave your man open for a split second the AI will sink the perimeter shot. It seems like the only way to make them miss is by jumping and contesting a shot. Now, I know that's usually what it takes to play defense but in real NBA basketball the shots don't go down as frequently, even when left open. I find myself staying in front of the opposing AI player and my player will sort of raise his hand but to no avail, the AI still makes just about every shot. I think Shaq made a 3 when I left him open, lol! All in all, play defense is like asking the Phoenix Suns to play defense...impossible!
