Summary: We tried it, we liked it.
Comment: I bought this for my 2.5 year old. He always wants to play this game now. He likes watching it and doing some of the Wii remote motions with us as we play it. He doesn't know how to play the game completely, but he is catching on to some of the actions. He loves to help shake the trees, push over the rocks, climb ladders and spray off Diego when he gets full of mud. The main actions are tilting the Wii left and right for movement and pressing the 2 button for jumps.
The game is very repetitive so as an adult or older child you will get bored quickly. But since I bought it for my 2.5 year old and have patience to teach him how to play it, I am okay with the repetition. I love that it is "no kill" or doesn't start over if you make a mistake. Very kid friendly. I only wish the game was longer or that you could unlock more missions or play more Rescuepack/Click the Camera games.

Summary: Good Game for a 3yr Old
Comment: I'm a relatively avid video gamer, who has bought a Wii/Wii Fit as a family Christmas gift this year. After seeing my 3yr old son slightly frustrated by Wii Sports, I did a little searching and came across Go Diego Go: Safari Rescue and decided to give it a try. Well, it's turned out great! He was already a Diego fan, so identifying with the character and his missions was easy. And the controls of the character are also well suited to a pre-school age child from what I can tell.
The games mechanics are straightforward, i.e., to climb up a ladder, you press first move diego in front of it (by tilting the Wii remote left or right), and than press the "2" button, and than you get to make a climbing motion up the ladder and viola! Similar motions are found all throughout the game.
There's also an adult assistance feature, which lets you take a second Wii remote, and perform the same motion as your child may be doing, which is also very helpful, because some motions are quite as intuitive or require a little more motion than your small child may be initially prepared for. However, with that said, after your son/daughter has shaken down a couple of trees (which light up upon being moused over and contain tokens, etc.,) or has been hosed down by a giant elephant, they'll be fully capable of of performing most motions on there own.

Summary: Ideal for a Pre-Schooler
Comment: We bought "Safari Rescue" for our son who turned 3 just three days prior to us giving it to him on Christmas. He instantly took to the game and was able to play with a small amount of verbal assistance. We like this game for him because it has simple controls and allows for him a sense of accomplishment. This is the first game that we have seen that does not allow the player to fail; perfect for a pre-schooler.
One review says it is not educational; we would say it is no less educational than the TV show. The game, in addition to the use of periodic Spanish, introduces the player to different animals, foods, following directions, and forces them to choice the right `tool' for the adventure.
We highly recommend this game!!

Summary: Kiddo is totally entertained!
Comment: Our daughter will be three in a couple months, and she LOVES this game. No, it's not the most educational, and older kids will probably breeze through it, but this is the ONLY game I've come across that is good for preschool age kids (and younger). She has always been a little jealous when we play games that are too advanced for her, so it's a huge boost for her to have a game that is special and just her speed! She's constantly "teaching" us how to pass certain obstacles. Also, you can't "die" or "lose" in this game....so there are no mistakes...which helps build her confidence and keeps her from getting frustrated. It's a well-made and well-thought-out game for young kids. Well done!

Summary: Great first video game!
Comment: I bought this game for my 4 yo and he loves it. I wanted to get a game he could play on our new Wii system. It is very good as far as introducing kids to the interaction required for the Wii. I am always there helping him with it. The little icons on what to do, help too. Sometimes, I have to remind him to go back to that tree or bush. He just loves it. He also has the Leapster L-Max, so he is semi familiar with video games. I highly recommend that too.
