The unthinkable happens in 2016. A nuclear exchange in the Middle East kills 20 million people and cripples the world's oil supply. Crude oil prices spike at $800 a barrel. One year later, Russia creates an advanced missile defense system and becomes the world's primary supplier of energy, thereby experiencing a massive economic boom. With its newfound riches, Russia quickly re-establishes itself as a major superpower and restores her military might. Western Europe, with the notable exception of the UK and Ireland, unifies to create the European Federation. In 2020, the United States is on the verge of finishing construction on the Freedom Star, a controversial orbital military platform that will upset the balance of world power. The European Federation withdraws from NATO in protest. Tensions between the European Federation, the United States, and Russia are building and will soon reach the breaking point. The EndWar is about to begin.

Customer Rating: Summary: Fun Game for Those with a Little Patience Comment: I've never played any of Tom Clancy's games so loaded and installed EndWar without any expectations whatsoever and have to admit it's surprisingly fun.
No doubt the troops control capabilities are more limited than a PC-based game due to the controller/headset limitations but when using a combination of both along with the DualShock sensors the command capabilities are very decent.
The different types of campaigns (single player vs AI, single vs single instant death, single campaign, multi campaign...) definitely add to the replay value. The graphics are very good but given the size of the map along with all the pertinent HQ information such as units count, battle engagements, troops health meter... my 47inch TV is nowhere near big enough and I find myself moving closer and closer until I sit close enough to almost use it as a computer monitor.
If you're old school like I am and have enjoyed the Command & Conquer series as well as Dune and would like to try a console-based RTS game you may want to give this a try. If on the other hand you have not played C&C or Dune, have no patience whatsoever, are trigger-happy and prefer brute full-frontal force over strategic finesse, and your game repertoire is composed only of the Call of Duty series then EndWar is definitely not for you. You'll only find yourself reselling this game at GameStop at a loss and post 1-star reviews on Amazon while calling it a "Roll Playing Game" whatever that means. Could it be "Role" instead? Soldiers, let's role!! LOL
Customer Rating: Summary: New Style RTS Comment: I've been playing RTS games since Warcraft 1. Over the years I've been amazed by improvements in physics and general multi player dynamics of the varying games. I own around 40 RTS games. The online side of this game has elements of Cave Dog's world system; you join one of 3 factions (and get a recruitment bonus if you side with a smaller one) and try to take over the world. The online play is not what makes the game though, the voice control is truly amazing... I mumble and it picks me up perfectly. I hope more games like this come out... this is the way a console RTS should be.
Customer Rating: Summary: Tom Clancy's END WAR Comment: This game is completely miss represented. It is a Roll Playing Game, not a first person shooter like I thought it was. I guess it was my fault for not looking into it, but from a name like Tom Clancy that is what I would have expected. Only played it once, did not enjoy, would love to get rid of it. Unless you are into Roll Playing GAmes, I would not recommend, buy Call of Duty 4 or 5 instead. Great delivery time though, but kind of like getting to the front of the line at the proctologist.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not bad - pretty fun actually Comment: I am a big fan of war games and still play C&C Generals and Zero Hour, act of war on PC. These games are great war games and a lot of fun. I wasn't sure what to expect from this game watching youtube and reading reviews - couldn't get a good feel for the game based on that. I went ahead and got the game becasue world in conflict got delayed.
I like this game - it takes a while to get used to the controls but the idea and gameplay is pretty fun. I don't use the headset - just the controller and I can get my guys to move pretty quickly..The graphics are ok, there aren't enough weapons or vehicles to play with like generals or act of war....there are basically 4 things: Soldiers, Tanks, Transports and Helicopters. You do have air support that comes in and drops a few bombs but not that spectacular. You do have one WMD which really looks awesome when you can use it but not enough massive weapons or explosions to really get you to go wow....
The game is still pretty fun and I'm still learning the nuances of leveling up and grouping my troups together - wish they had more bombers like a stealth bomber or A10 or Spectre Gunship or carpet bombing or more spectacular weapons. You don't control individual things either its like 4 tanks at once or 4 squads of troops at once....
I'm pretty knowledgeable on wargames though playing generals and zero hour for years - so I'll say this....this game is still fun and the only RTS game on the PS3 until world in conflict comes out - so buy it and play it - its' worth your time.
Customer Rating: Summary: This game is highly addictive!!! Comment: I purchased EndWar on the release date and have been hooked ever since. This game is very intense and very competitive during online play. It is really more like a PC game than a PS3 game. First you select whether you want to join the US forces, Europe of Russia. You take control of the different units like Tanks, Choppers, Artillery, Infantry etc and bring them to victory. There are different modes of play like conquest which you have to secure control points, Raid where you have to destroy select buildings or Battle where you fight your opponent until you have destroyed all of his units. You earn points for playing and more points for winning. Then you can use those points to purchase many different upgrades. You really have to be good at multi-tasking to be good at this game because there is so much going on at the same time. You can try the demo out for free on the playstation store to give you a better idea what this game is like.
