Summary: excellent with a minimal drawback
Comment: I purchased this product to replace a wireless logitech keyboard. I had a problem with the dropout while typing and gaming. Also I had a problem with the number of keys that could be pressed at one time with my logitech keyboard. This razer keyboard suffers from neither of those problems.

If you're looking for back-lit as a primary criteria, this is not very flexible. The lighting is adequate but you are unable to adjust the brightness. Turning off the back-lighting makes the key labels disappear entirely.

The media controls are a little unintuitive, but once you learn their locations they suffice. They are almost invisible when back-lighting is off.

The key feel is very comfortable to me, however as a student I use a laptop for much of my typing so I prefer the feel of a laptop's keys.

The notch where the wrist rest attaches makes the keyboard unusable without it. This also isn't a real problem as you should use it (i didn't before this keyboard) and the wrist rest feels comfortable.

The biggest drawback that I found is that it requires 2 usb ports to function. I have an old, cheap motherboard (that came with a barebones kit, i'd suggest splurging on a higher quality motherboard it'll help in the long run) that has only 4 usb ports. This keyboard takes up 2 of my precious usb slots. In today's usb heavy peripheral market this may mean that you need unplug a peripheral to plug in this keyboard. There is a usb slot on the keyboard itself, however it is not usb 2.0. The headphone and mic jacks on the keyboard are nice, but not useful in my setup.

If you have the usb ports to spare, i highly recommend this keyboard, if you're usb ports are at a premium, then you may want to shop a little longer.

in short, excellent feel, quality design, decent price.

Summary: Great keyboard with a few drawbacks
Comment: The keyboard is absolutely awesome with the touchpad and backlight.
Sensitivity of the keys and the feel of it... I just can't find any words to describe them.

But, the lights on the entire keyboard is a little dim. Its clear and nice when the lights are off but when the lights are on, its a little too dim for my liking.
Another thing about this keyboard is i can't press 8 keys simultaneously, which means i can't play some of my favorite games.
No idea if its a setting on the keyboard or not, but i'll find out about it and post another review here.

Summary: What is with the poor reviews? Bunch of dummies
Comment: Too many non-five star reviews here. The keys are extra grippy with a rubber like coding. They don't protrude as high and separate as cheap keyboards. The back light is very bright anyone who says its not bright enough needs to get their blinding eyes checked out. The keyboard plugs into audio ports for better headsets.

The usb port on the keyboard is irrelevant. No gamer should be plugging their mouse into the keyboard! Directly into the back of the PC only thx

Regardless of it being USB 1 or 2.0. This keyboard is better (IMO) and sleeker (no argument) then the newer more expensive Razer model. The touch pad on the top right is a lot like the PlayStation 3 system touch buttons. My only complaint is on vista-64 you need to fiddle with settings to make it work correctly for volume controls, and next track if your using something other then itunes or windows media player.

Great amazing keyboard. Had it for a month now No regrets. Razer needs less haters when they make good products.

Summary: Excellent keyboard.
Comment: While the Razer Lycosa doesn't offer any additional gaming keys, this still has to be my favorite keyboard to date. Standard layout, all the keys are where I prefer them to be, key presses are natural, and the slight rubber coating makes this keyboard quite responsive. I know what I'm typing, when, no need to guess if I hit the wrong key on accident. Great keyboard for people who need to be able to use it for hours on end. The media controls are also convenient.
