Summary: Well worth it.
Comment: Above all, know that Warhawk is a multiplayer game ONLY. There is NO single-player campaign at all. That said, the game is great fun, and is one of the most balanced games I've played to date. Between air combat with the Warhawks, ground combat with a variety of weapons (flamethrower anyone?) and vehicles, there is something for everyone. My only complaint it the auto-aim when shooting, but overall it helps to make the game easy for anyone to get into. Again, great purchase, lots of fun.

Summary: Best PS3 Game... for a great price
Comment: This is the best PS3 game I've ever played, and it's only $29! Most games are $50 or $60 for the PS3 and they don't have as much replay ability as this one. There are seriously hundreds of ways to set the games... and you can join other people's games.
You can play Capture the Flag, Team Death Match, Hero, and about 6 other modes. When you play the game, you can play in a plane (called a Warhawk), the ground, or in a tank or Jeep. The jeep can hold three people; a driver, a passenger, and a machine gunner. The plane can hold two; a pilot and passenger. The tank holds two as well; a driver and a passenger who can open the top and use whatever weapon he wants to fight. Also, the tank has a super powerful rocket/shell gun which is good against planes. For ground mode, there are rocket launchers, flamethrowers, proximity mines, machine guns, grenades, and sniper rifles.
Warhawks can use machine guns, an electrical arch weapon which damages/destroys all enemy vehicles in a single shot, swarm missles, guided missles, and so many more.
There are great maps and layouts, and you can buy more. The game is constantly updating itself, which is awesome. Proximity mines are a fairly new feature, and they make the game just that much more fun.
Overall, I think everyone should buy it. The PlayStation Network is free and very reliable, it never crashes or goes down. You can play against some really good people.

Summary: You will waste soooooo much time playing this game
Comment: Donkey Kong? Space Invaders? Asteroids? Pong? Pitfall? Combat? Remember the classic games of the 1980s when home video games were just getting started? How about Castle Wolfenstein 3D and Doom? I remember when those games came out how amazing the 3D or first-person-shooter development was.
Warhawk takes gaming in a whole new direction. Online only, senseless combat with incredible graphics and a huge selection of weaponry. This game lets the PS3 shine-- not only because the gameplay is smooth and gorgeous but because the online gameplay is totally free. Play all you want, and you don't pay a dime.
The only danger with this game, and I'm serious about it, is that you can play for four hours straight and not have any clue that you just wasted four hours on a video game. The game blocks are usually in 30-minute segments and there isn't enough time during "intermisson" to even take a bathroom break or to eat a Hot Pocket. So, pretty much you want to settle in for the evening before you pick this game up.

Comment: I bought this game early in 2008, and I have played the heck out of it since. Even with other games like GTA, Metal Gear Solid, Resistance, and so on coming out, I spent 105 hours playing this game since I purchased it.
I didn't buy any of the downloadable maps, but the maps on disc are sufficient to enjoy the game to the fullest. I love the vehicles, the sense of scale with the maps. The maps are HUGE. Not not just in surface area, but also in volumetric measures. You really have a lot of room to fly the warhawks.
The aerial weapons are great and diverse.
I love the tank as well. You can get amusing hits with it.

Summary: Still my favorite game after a year....
Comment: I was never a big fan of first person shooters but Warhawk is too good and way too fun.... especially with the booster packs and more than an hours worth of experience. Make sure you have a reliable wireless network if that's how you connect the PS3. This is a definite classic in my books. Several different war games from capture the flag, team death match, death match, hero, zones, dogfight and more. Love the different terrains/maps (which can be divided into smaller areas) and you get even more if you get the booster packs on the PS store. Multiplayer is great and the vehicles/weapon selection is top notch. The graphics are very good and I am an HD fanatic.
For those giving this title poor reviews because it is an online only game, they should read the case or the game description more carefully. It's right in front of your face people!!!!
